Tony Hawk is a professional skateboarder, actor, stuntman, and the owner of the skateboard company Birdhouse.
Not detract from the interview. But anyone else notice that one strange of Tony's hair just standing too attention.
Tony Hawk is like the Keanu Reeves Bruce Lee of skateboarding vert, and Rodney Mullen is like the Nicola Tesla/Gallileo Musk Ghandi of street tech...Two of my life long heroes for their skills, but more how they used skateboarding as an outlet with such a passion that it started an entire decade and a half of hype- and we're starting to see it now again. In my ceative-arts-animation-whatever profession, and hobbies (26 years of martial arts and still going), and mentality and attitude with handling whatever life throws that hurts; roll with it and learn how to handle better;... and, then, how to flex with style in what I love to do, and if I can, try and pull off something, well, hell of sick, with creativity and analog-inspirations the same way. "fall and get up, laugh, try it again smarter" is something I in a very large way owe to these two guys both with martial arts, and with channeling that into my art-art, which is my profession and I have to say the artistry and humility in equal ratio is, along with crazy good skateboarding, makes them immortalized as life-role-models. Tony Hawk rules. Rodney Mullen rules. Skateboarding rules. This show rules. Thanks Joe.
San Diego is a really healthy place? That is laughable. Obviously Joe hasn't been in a Costco and witnessed the hordes of overweight people stocking up on food products that they have no business eating.
World's oldest teenager
I love tony hawk
You would enjoy woodworking Tony
I broke my ankle and tibia in something like 16 places, totally sheared the big ball things on either side I didn't get it checked, Walked on it and let it heal naturally Years later I had an xray and then a cat scan of it because the doctors were baffled Does that make me next level too? 😂
His new game is amazing
I like how Joe almost said thanks for having me.😂 He respects the living legend!
I thought of a new trick Tony. When you are doing a 50/50 Grind on the Vert ramp, do a kick flip at the end of the grind dropping back in. That would be fuckin knarly my guy. Big fan. Your first video game helped me get through some difficult surgeries. In a hospital bed in my parents living room my mom got it for me. It is all I thought about and played for a week straight. I was 17 and looking back, THPS really helped a grim situation. All this time later you are still a positive role model and great American. Thanks for that.
Yo Joe, you should have Rudney Mullen, he's a complete legend and has amazing conversation and things to teach from his experiences skating
Ya I had to stop just to say GSP is not the best ufc filter of all time he never defined the belt not 1 time😆
I do hafe to say that is the only one I wached all the way trew
All these comments say the say thing just worded differently.
I like Joe but he's terrible in this interview lol.
Can Rogan have an athlete on the podcast without bringing up CTE? Holy fuck that was the stupidest question ever. He could have Tiger Woods on and he'd still ask about CTE.
So i wanna see a JRE wirh Rodney Mullen
I'm watching Tony hawk videos for three days stright... should I be worrying at this point???
I loved Gleaming the cube as a kid! (1989) Tony was even a Legend back then! He opened a skate park not far from me in the uk called Victoria park in Bath one of my best childhood memories lol
So this is what it would be like if Joe Rogan hosted The Nine Club with Cris Roberts
Tony is the coolest
What's so intriguing to me is that surf rock/punk rock and surfing/skating culture and how both are intermingled in such a way that's always fascinated me.
i thought this podcast was uploaded somewhere in 2019, turns out it was during the lockdown
The therapy is called bio feedback or neurofeedback
80's - Mullen 90's - Tony Hawk 00's - Burnquist
Both Kelly Slater and Tony Hawk should promote chiropractic more.
Would be interesting to have Rodney Mullen on the podcast
“So you did the 900, but have you ever done DMT?”
How else do you think he did the 900? 👀
I agree with tony on bringing it to a bigger audience. Way too many douchey skaters out there high out of their minds, “against the man”. If people love skating who cares who or what they are. More interest equals more skate manufacturers and support. I skated aggressive inline for a while, and that died so much that getting ahold of skates and parts went to hell, even aggressive mall went under and that was the Mecca of skate shops for bladers. Don’t be a dick, if someone wants to skate, teach and support them.
Rodney Mullen next!
Why would they fill a skatepark with sand? To keep large gatherings down. C'mon Joe. Though he has some good questions, he really does have some dumb rhetorical ones.
Was he talking about bam?
Tony Hawk has always had an air of humility
fuck, why'd i start this a 3 am...
My two worlds collide. I think thats a thps song
Not a big skateboard guy, but Tony is a very cool and intelligent guy. Interesting to hear his experiences.
